SOLO PIANO
Paraphrase on “Summertime” (from George Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess)
Written for the advanced pianist, drawing on the full expressive and technical possibilities of Gershwin’s celebrated melody.
Please note: Gershwin’s music entered the public domain in the UK and EU on 1 January 2008 (70 years after the composer’s death in 1937). In the United States copyright protection continues until 2031.

PIANO DUET
Variations on a Theme by Haydn
A famous theme by Haydn, reimagined through the styles of seven different composers – a rewarding and characterful set for lower intermediate piano duettists.
CHORAL/VOCAL
Arranged for unaccompanied vocal quartet (SATB) from the original for double quartet. Well suited to weddings.
A simple but effective arrangement of this German folk song for SSA voices with piano accompaniment.
A more elaborate arrangement of the time-honoured Irish folk song, for SSA voices with piano accompaniment.
ENSEMBLES/INSTRUMENTAL
Siegfried Idyll (reinstrumentation, abridged)
A reworked and shortened version of Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll, created for a charity concert with correspondingly altered instrumentation.
A traditional Arabic piece arranged for treble instrument (flute, recorder, or violin) and piano.
An original song for mezzo-soprano, cor anglais, and piano, setting Goethe’s celebrated text.
A medley of well-known Italian repertoire for small orchestra and solo voices, including “Funiculì, Funiculà,” “Torna a Surriento,” an extract from Puccini’s Tosca, and “O Sole Mio,” among others.
SCHOOL ORCHESTRA
Prelude from Charpentier’s Te Deum
Arranged for school orchestra with a newly composed introduction. Festive and celebratory in character, well suited to official occasions.
A straightforward arrangement of this well-known 1927 Gershwin number for school orchestra.
